Eastern Onion Singing Telegrams and More!
Most of our compliments and thanks are received on the phone. Occasionally we get some wonderful letters:

San Francisco's Eastern Onion® is a world-class delivery service. My request was not an easy one, but Kat and Eric came through for me, both in finding just the right delivery person, and in handling the delay caused by the recipient not being available. They are professional and fun to work with - they really took care of everything.

You sent your nurse to check me out last night at my retirement party, presumably to see if I was fit enough to leave my job.

I didn't get her name, but Nursie was fabulous. She remembered all her lines, used all her gimmicks and fell right in with my own attempt at stand up comedy. We became a great combination and her appearance was one of the highlights of the whole shindig.

Check your record and find out who she was. If you hand out bonuses, she deserves one and if you don't, then at least let her know I send my compliments.

I'll keep your card and website in my records for future use. Thank you.

Hi Eric,

I wanted to tell you guys that the Austin Powers telegram that we had for our bride to be Valerie was wonderful! He was very professional and extremely funny. Valerie had a great time and the whole event actually calmed her nerves a bit! Our Austin handled himself very well even under a difficult point when the radio wasn't working. He was able to plug it in and in fact made fun of the situation which was even funnier. ... we had a fabulous time and I thank you for the professionalism. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

Sincerely,
Angie

Dear Eric:

I'm writing today simply to praise your business for its excellent service and staff.

My best friend, Danielle, recently had surgery in San Francisco. Unfortunately, due to various work, school, and financial constraints, none of her friends or family were able to accompany her from Massachusetts. She traveled there and recovered alone. While surfing the net for possible florists or gift services in the San Francisco bay area, I stumbled across your site. I knew immediately that a singing telegram would be the perfect gesture; besides the obvious entertainment value, it would also give her a visitor at the hospital (she doesn't know anyone in California.)

From start to finish, I encountered only friendly and helpful service from Eastern Onion. I set up the appointment with Kat, who was very flexible and accommodating to my special requests (adding a Top Hat to the standard Gorilla-in-a-Tutu costume, reading a long personal message, catering to my goal of including in-jokes, etc.) Even at the last minute, I had no problem when I spoke with you to delay delivery of the telegram for a few hours (when I learned she was going to be out of her room to have stitches removed.)

Danielle called me later that night to thank me for sending the telegram. As she went on and on and detailed Serge's performance, I was pleased to hear that none of my special requests were overlooked. He remembered the smallest details, even remembering to tip his top hat to her as he walked out the door. He went above and beyond my expectations, singing several songs, dancing, playing the harmonica, doing impressions, even staying for a little while after finishing his performance to keep her company. It means so much to me that he spent this time with her when she was at her loneliest. He was friendly and concerned, as well as hysterically funny.

Thanks so much for your fantastic work! Kudos to you, Kat, and Serge.

Sincerely, Rebecca Paiva Very Satisfed Customer

(Note: This letter was so nice I wanted to write a thank-you-note for the thank-you-note! - Kat)

On behalf of our entire management staff, I would like to thank you for the telegram we received on Tuesday, March 30, 1999. It was a birthday surprise for our kitchen manager Steve... and I must say he was quite surprised.

Heather did an excellent job; she was very funny and talented. Our entire staff (and a few of our guests) enjoyed the show she put on for Steve. Please extend our appreciation to her for a job well done.

Dear Eric,

Thank you so much for your efforts in pulling off Elvis and the dancing/singing scanners. It’s through the creative talents of people like yourself that the Delaney Group continues to market themselves to prospective clients successfully. We heard from UMAX that it was a 5 Star production and performance - they were all shook up!

We look forward to working with you again. Do you do dancing semiconductors??!!

Thank you again,

The Delaney Group, Advertising Works

Eric and Jim,

Thanks for making Mobile Manifest “Fly”.

Dear Eric,

Thank you for the attention that you and Kat gave to our project. The Account Executives were very impressed with the actors and are enthusiastic about doing this sort of thing for our next convention in New Orleans.

Sincerely,

(Note: We had the Scarecrow, Cowardly Lion and the Tin Man visit the convention. Each character represented a different type of employee and was used to illustrate points made in the lecture. They also provided comic relief! EO)

Dear Eric!

Thank you and Kat for being so patient. Best wishes and you did a beautiful job.

Dear Eastern Onion:

Just wanted to thank you and the wonderful performer (Serge) who appeared as Dr. Feelgood at Christine Papison’s 50th Birthday party on Saturday, May 24, 1997.

The party was wonderful, but Dr. Feelgood’s performance was the key to focusing all attention on the honoree, and his comedic timing, inventiveness and interaction with the guests was superb. I’ve reviewed the tape we made of the whole afternoon, and Dr. Feelgood was definitely what we needed to bring everyone together.

Thanks for a job well done!

Sincerely,
Judson R. Rhodes

( Note: I think we framed this one! EO)

Katharina,

Thank you for your brilliant telegram Saturday. From the photos it looks like everyone is having too much fun!
Thanks again for your improvisation.

The kids from the Miraloma Cooperative Nursery School say, "Thanks!"

Here are a few letters from our division:

To the folks at Eastern Onion, I'd like to let you know that Mo the Clown was a wonderful addition to my daughter's 1st birthday. Mo was just great and the kids loved her. Can't wait to see her next year!

Thanks, Filiz Weller

Dear Eric,

Just wanted to send this note to let you know how pleased I was with your services. On March 18 you sent a Professional Clown to my daughter’s third birthday party. I was thoroughly impressed with the flow of events and when the Clown mentioned several of my daughter’s interests I thought that was a wonderful touch. It’s a hard age to keep their attention focused but he definitely left a big impression on the children as they were very excited and kept on talking about him after his departure.

It was a pleasure dealing with your company from beginning to end. I’ll definitely seek you out for future events. Please extend my satisfaction to the performer. Thank you so much.

Sincerely,
Tina Martinez

To: The Staff at Eastern Onion,

On July 7th we had hired a Pocahontas character to perform at our daughters 8th Birthday Party. Everyone attending agreed she had done a wonderful job and had been enjoyed by the children very much. She was courteous and professional throughout her entire performance.

Unfortunately, I had to leave before the end of her show and missed the opportunity to express my thanks and offer her a much deserved gratuity. (I believe her name was Rachel.)

I would like to thank her again for the delightful entertainment she had provided. We will be recommending her to our friends in the future.

Sincerely,
Angel Clarke
